Day 19

The feeling of disappointment still lingered among everyone after the loss but we rallied for an exciting day. Today we made a trip to the Lion Park to see over 85 lions and their cubs. We arrive at the park and hop onto a safari vehicle with bars up to the roof for protection. Riding through the park we went to different lion camps, which were separated by age and prides. Most of the lions were sleeping, apparently they sleep for 18 hours out of the day! We all watched them eat drink and walk next to the cars. A cool fact is that a swipe from a full grown male lion can snap the neck of a wildebeast!

The last part of the trip concluded with us petting baby lions. These cubs were all rejected from their mother and the park takes them and raises them for the duration of their lives. A once in a lifetime experience, these cubs were very people friendly and let me rub their undersides.

In the spirit of "Bros Icing Bros" a phenomenon which has taken over the U.S. frat scene, I decided to pull one on Fred Craig. At the convenience store and purchased the Smirinoff Storm. Outside of the shop I presented the drink to Fred who upon receiving it must drop to one knee and chug the entire bottle. For dinner there was a braai buffet at the park, on the grill were chicken kebabs, boerwars (giant hot dogs), lamb and rolls. A lovely meal full of plenty of seasoned meat, to finish the meal I enjoyed a delicious banana milkshake.
